Ahmed Saleem received the second most votes in the election, after receiving 1,829 of the total 3,112 votes in Hoarafushi

Five candidates of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) received the most votes in the parliamentary election.

Ibrahim Nazil won the South Hithadhoo seat with the most votes in the election, after receiving 1,931 (70%) of the total 2,798 votes. Nazil’s wife and prominent attorney Hisaan Hussain won the Thulhaadhoo seat.

Ahmed Saleem received the second most votes in the election, after receiving 1,829 of the total 3,112 votes in Hoarafushi.

Mohamed Nihad won the Feydhoo seat with the third most votes after receiving 1,781 of the total 3,306 votes. Current Feydhoo MP Ibrahim Didi lost his re-election bid after receiving 1,460 votes.

Jihan Mahmood, who won the Hinnvaru seat, came in fourth after receiving 1,779 votes and Mohamed Rasheed, who won in North Fuvahmulah, came in fifth with 1,775 votes. This is the first time that MDP won the North Fuvahmulah seat.

201,279 of the 264,442 eligible voters voted in the parliamentary election, at which MDP received supermajority after winning 65 seats.
