President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Visam Ali as the new Ambassador to Malaysia.

Ambassador Visam was presented her letter of appointment at the President’s Office on Tuesday.

Parliament approved her as the ambassador in mid-February.

She previously served as Member of Parliament for Maduvvari constituency and filled many government positions including as a Minister. She was also the leader of Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP).
