The Maldivian government will inaugrate its first housing programme within the next two weeks, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said.
President Solih said this while speaking at a campaign event for the upcoming parliamentary elections, on Thursday night.
Speaking at the event, President Solih said that the project is the first manifestation of his campaign pledge to ensure housing for all Maldivians.
President Solih said that the government aims to provide housing for everyone that requires it, and will build flats to be sold at unprecedentedly low prices.
Details of the project, which is to be the first launched by the Solih administration for capital city Malé, has not yet been revealed.
