The Ministry of Education has said that they have begun work to air-condition the Dharumavantha School in capital city Malé.
The ministry said that its staff has been working to address a number of issues faced by education facilities in the country.
Minister Aishath Ali said that the work to air-condition all classrooms in the school will be complete within a month.
The work is being carried out in cooperation with the State Trading Organisation, the ministry says.
While the school has its separate budget, the ministry is covering all expenses for acquiring and installing the air-conditioning units.
The ministry has received a number of complaints about the classrooms being ‘too uncomfortable’ for use.
The school is one of the older secondary education outlets in the capital, and in the country.
