Department of National Registration has requested parliamentary election voters to renew their National ID cards before March 25.

In a press release, the department stated that any expired or damaged ID card they receive after March 25 are unlikely to be renewed before the parliamentary election.

The department also stated that it is always becomes overwhelmed with ID cards close to elections.

Elections Commission stated that 264,589 are eligible to vote in the parliamentary election, in which 392 candidates are vying for 87 constituencies.
