The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) is investigating corruption cases filed against two state-run companies.
ACC’s deputy president Muavviz Rasheed said that they received 52 cases against the state-run utilities company FENAKA Corporation, and 23 cases against state broadcaster Public Service Media (PSM).
Deputy President Muavviz said that the ACC received 238 cases of allegations against state-run companies and institutions.
Muavviz said that a commission has been established to look into the cases against FENAKA and PSM.
Over MVR four million was spent on developing a PSM bureau in Hulhumalé, a project overseen by then Managing Director Ibrahim Khaleel, which was used as the headquarters for the company’s board of directors.
The ACC this year released a report on its investigation into embezzlement of island and lagoon leases through the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation.
