The Ministry of Economic Development has on Sunday opened for public consultation two heavily anticipation legislations.
The government is looking to forward a bill on consumer protection and a bill for formulation of local competition law.
The consumer protection bill’s current draft makes provisions to establish a consumer ombudsman office and for alternate despite resolution.
The competition bill seeks to establish unprecedented measures in the Maldives to deter anti-competitive practices.
Drafts have been uploaded to the ministry’s website and the public can provide feedback through e-mail at [email protected], before the 11th of March.
