RaajjeTV has opened a Relief Fund to assist citizens of Addu City.

RaajjeTV Business Development Manager Shimana Ismail said that the company opened the fund to assist the eleven families affected by Wednesday night’s tornado.

The box is placed in RaajjeTV premises. Donations will also be accepted to account numbers 7704700410001 for Maldivian Rufiyaa contributions and 7704700410002 for US Dollar contributions.

Addu City Mayor Abdullah Sodiq (Sobe) reported that 16 homes had been damaged by the tornado. The families living in those home has been transferred to temporary housing with assistance from Maldives Police Service (MPS) and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

In addition to Addu City, Gaaf Dhaal Nadellaa, Alif Alif Thohddoo and several islands in Thaa Atoll have been affected by the rains.
