Block mode study has never been officially permitted at any local academic institutions, public or private, the Maldives Qualifications Authority (MQA) has said.
A statement from the MQA on Wednesday says that it has received complaints of registered educational institutes violating their licenses by carrying out programs that do not fit into its framework.
The MQA says that adherence to the Maldives National Qualifications Framework (MNQF) is required of all educational institutions operating in the country.
Conducting programs that do not meet the criteria provided by the MNQF is a violation and is unacceptable, the MQA further said.
Teaching to either full-time or part-time students is allowed under the MNQF.
