A six-year-old child, who remains in critical condition after suffering head injuries in an accident on Friday, has been brought to capital city Malé from the southern Addu city.
The Maldives National Defence Force announced the transfer through a post on Twitter, which says the boy was airlifted to Malé on Satuday morning.
Neither the military nor the regional hospital in Addu has revealed the extent of the child's injuries; he was hit by a speeding motorcycle while 'running onto the road', a witness says.
The Maldives National Defence Force on Saturday also assisted in transferring a patient at the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, who was in 'urgent' need of further medical attention.
