NRSC suspended, following overdue salaries

Case has been forwarded to the FAM’s disciplinary committee to see if there are further measures to be taken against the club

The issue in question, is regarding players salaries

New Radiant Sports Club (NRSC) has been suspended from all activities carried out by the Football Association of the Maldives (FAM).

A statement released by FAM on Saturday reads that players had filed a complaint at the FAM that the club had not given them their salaries, amounting to MVR 3.8 million.

FAM in its statement wrote that the club was summoned to the Player Status Committee upon which they were given many chances to give players their salaries, however, they had stated that their budget had all been spent and they none left.

As such, the club had failed to stay true to its agreement with its players and to carry out its responsibility in guaranteeing their rights, reads the statement.

In addition, the FAM suspends NRSC from all activities conducted by the association until the issue of players salaries is solved, under the association guidelines.

FAM’s committee has also passed to forward the case to the FAM’s disciplinary committee to see if there are further measures to be taken against the club.

While one of the most famed footballs clubs across the nation has been suspended, RaajjeMV is yet to attain a word from the club on the matter.
