President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent felicitations to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of India’s Republic Day.

In separate messages to President Kovind and Prime Minister Modi on Saturday, President Solih conveyed good wishes to the government and people of India.

In the messages, President Solih reflected on the long history of warm friendship and close cooperation between the Maldives and India and expressed his appreciation for India’s pivotal role that it continues to play in the development of the Maldives.

The President expressed his hope and confidence that the economic, political and cultural ties between the the Maldives and India will strengthen in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of the two countries and its people.

President Solih concluded the messages by wishing further progress and prosperity for the people of India.
