Water Solutions, an environmental and surveying consultancy company, has released a documentary video of the Old Friday Mosque (Hukuru Miskiy).

Water Solutions presented a poster of the documentary to Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon on Thursday.

At the ceremony, Yumna highlighted the importance of young people and companies’ contributions to the preservation of the country’s cultural heritage.

Water Solutions made this project as part of their agreement with the ministry in 2018, in accordance with their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Water Solutions’ technical staff took six months to prepare the documentary.

The YouTube video shows surveyors using high-resolution 3D laser scanners to map and document the coral stone carvings, lacquer work, calligraphy of the Old Friday Mosque.

The Hukuru Miskiy is one of the oldest and largest coral stone mosques in Maldives and is on the tentative UNESCO World Heritage cultural list.
