India has appointed a new ambassador to the Maldives, replacing Akhilesh Mishra upon the conclusion of his term.
Times of India reported that appointed is Sunjay Sudhir. His appointment was made at the level of Deputy Minister.
The news outlet reported that Sudhir is currently on deputation to the Ministry of petroleum and natural gas.
He previously served as India’s Consul General in Sydney, Australia.
Mishra was appointed as Indian Ambassador to Maldives in 2016. Before him, the post was filled by Rajeev Shahare before being appointed as Indian Ambassador to Denmark.
Before commencing his term as Ambassador to Maldives, Mishra, he served as Consul General of India to Toronto, Canada.
