Discussions have been held on areas for mutual cooperation in the field of Tourism, between the Maldives and the United Kingdom.
The Ministry of Tourism revealed via twitter on Sunday that Minister Ali Waheed had met with the Head of South Asia Department of UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Fergus Auld and UK Ambassador to Maldives James Dauris.

While the meeting took place at the Ministry where Minister Waheed held discussions for the progression of tourism in the country, current administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is working to bring more development to the industry.
As such, Minister Waheed has been travelling to the outlying atolls to observe and acknowledge the many challenges surfacing for the tourism industry. He has also met with the tourism community to discuss difficulties being faced as well as solutions that may be offered.
