Inner Maldives Holidays has teamed up with U.S-based Universal Aviation to launch their services in the Maldives, especially to enhance private jet experience.
The opening of the “Universal Aviation Maldives” headquarters based in Velana International Airport, was held on Thursday at Maagiri Hotel.
While this is the Universal Aviation’s eighth location in the Asia-Pacific region, alongside it’s main headquarters in ViA, it provides supervisory services to all airports throughout Maldives, including Gan International Airport, Maamigili Airport as well as Hanimaadhoo International Airport.
At a press conference after the launching ceremony, Inner Maldives Group’s Managing Director Mohamed Firaq said that the facilities providing transport between Maldives and other destinations have been left without much attention till date.
Chairman of Universal, Greg Evans stated that Maldives is a popular area but is a potentially challenging destination for their clients. In this regard he stated that it was important to identify a partner that will provide them with an unforgettable experience through pro-active trip management, shedding light on partnering up with Inner Maldives Group.
Managing Director at Universal Aviation Maldives, Abdulla Ghiyas stated that Tourism is a “major reason” for many of the corporate jet aviation traffic in the country.
Inner Maldives has been working with Universal Aviation for the past five years as an agent. However, with the establishment of this joint venture company, their services will be provided with more efficiency now.
Universal Aviation has been operating for 50 years and operates in more than 40 locations in 20 countries.
The company offers other products and services including international flight planning and scheduling, weather briefings, fueling programmes, aircraft ground handling and aviation security.
