A Filipino employee at the Jumeirah Vittaveli resort in Kaafu atoll has on Wednesday passed away under peculiar circumstances.

RaajjeMV understands that the employee was a fire dancer at the resort’s Kid’s Club, and had collapsed shortly after a show.

The Maldives Police Service confirms that the body of a man native to Philippines was brought to the ADK Hospital in capital city Malé at 19:30 on Tuesday.

The resort, run under the Dubai-based Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts, is yet to publicly address the matter.
