Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) has given the final notice to deposit funds from the Bank of Commerce and Credit International (BCCI).

BCCI declared bankruptcy in 1991 and MMA has been paying out money deposited to the Maldives’ branch since August 1998.

Since 2,079 depositors have yet to withdraw their funds, MMA released a press statement requesting them to claim their money by 31 March 2019, since afterwards disbursement of the funds will be discontinued.
