Electricity prices in the outlying islands will soon be reduced, says Saeed Mohamed, the newly directed Managing Director of the state utilities company Fenaka Corporation.

Speaking to RaajjeTV, Saeed said that the government is working to reduce electricity prices, in line with their pledges.

Saeed said that a definite date for when reduced prices are to be announced or by how much they are to be reduced has not yet been ascertained.

The Fenaka managing director further said that the company is working to develop their powerhouses and improve their service.

Addressing previous claims that the company was used by former president Abdulla Yameen for political work, Saeed said that nothing of this nature would be tolerated and that any senior officials who ask employees for such requests will be dismissed.
