Airport ferry ticket prices jacked up
Prices increased to MVR 11 from MVR 10
Tickets sold after midnight raised to MVR 21 from MVR 20
Effective from 10th May

Prices of ferry tickets between Hulhule’ and Male’ have been increased.

Airport Ferry Operator’s Association said that the prices were changed due to the introduction of GST charges on ferry transportation.

As such, ticket prices have been raised from MVR 10 to MVR 11. Additionally, tickets sold after midnight will be charged MVR 21 instead of MVR 20. The rates are effective from 10th of this month.

A senior official of the Association reported to Raajje.mv that the tickets were sold to public without including GST in it. He said the boat owners had reported significant losses by not charging GST to the travelers, noting that he had spent MVR 16,000 to Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) as taxes.
