The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) of Maldives is to light up the street lights of the link road connecting capital city Male’s suburban extension Hulhumale’ and Hulhule.
HDC made the announcement via twitter on Monday.
The corporation’s tweet reads that they will be lighting up the link road for a test round, on Monday night.
We will be temporarily lighting up the street lights on Hulhulé – #Hulhumalé link road, tonight for a test round.#HDCMaldives

It is notable that the link road has been left unlit since the opening of the Sinamale’ Bridge, one of former President Abdulla Yameen’s biggest development projects.
While the entirety of the Greater Male’ Area have been opting to use the bridge over sea travel since it was inaugurated on the 30th of August, following the ongoing holidays, numerous people have been travelling over the bridge, with the number of accidents escalating.
