Former Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jameel has announced that he will be contesting for the Villimale’ seat in the parliament election.
Dr. Jameel, who was the first Vice President of President Abdulla Yameen’s administration, has confirmed this to the media.
In a tweet on Friday, he expressed concern over the lack of development in Villimale’.

Dr. Jameel is currently the political adviser to Qasim Ibrahim, the parliament speaker and leader of Jumhooree Party. He has said that he will give his full support to the government coalition.
Most of ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s candidates in its primaries are also contesting for the Villimale’ seat.
