New prices for domestic air travel will be publicized once necessary discussions have been concluded, Transport Ministry Aishath Nahula has said.
Through a statement from the ministry, Minister Nahula said that the Island Aviation Services has forwarded new ticket fare regulations and prices to the President’s Office.
Nahula said that the state has completed ‘60 percent’ of the work to reduce air fare, which is one of the new government’s promises for its first 30 days in office.
Nahula said that discussions with the President’s Office are yet pending and that the prices will be finalized and publicized once they are concluded.
The ministry said that the new prices will be implemented about three weeks after they are finalized.
