Reported cases of fever and flu has increased in Angolhitheemu island of Raa atoll.
About 75 patients have seen a doctor for symptoms related to these conditions since 19th December, Wednesday this week. The island has a population of 520 people.
Most of these patients were under 12 years of age, the island’s health center revealed. The center also said that the island’s pharmacy is experiencing immense stock shortages.
An official from the island’s health center said that they have brought the matter to the attention of the Ministry of Health.
