President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he welcomes foreign investors and that they will not face any obstruction in Maldives.
The Maldives President said this at an event held to meet Indian businessmen in New Delhi’s ITC Maurya Hotel on Sunday night.
At the event, President Solih said that he will guarantee that foreign investors have favorable conditions while dealing with the Maldives banking and legal system.
He said that the Maldives is opening itself up to foreign businesses as it develops and that while it is a small nation, it is also one that has a rapidly expanding economy.
He also thanked the businessmen for meeting him on his three-day visit to India.
Those at the event included India’s minister of commerce and senior officials of the chamber of commerce as well as Maldives foreign minister Abdulla Shahid, finance minister Ibrahim Ameer, economic minister Fayyaz Ismail, planning minister Mohamed Aslam, and transport minister Aishath Nahula.
