The Elections Commission and the Ministry of Finance have held discussions regarding the upcoming Parliamentary Elections.

The Commission on Thursday revealed the meeting between officials of both the commission and Ministry, via twitter.

Discussions were held regarding the budget for the parliamentary election slated for next year, revealed EC member and spokesperson Ahmed Akram.

The commission is yet to reveal a date to hold the parliamentary election.

While the current tenure consists of 85 constituencies, the new tenure is to introduce two new seats, totaling the number of seats to 87. The two added constituencies are for Henveiru and Mahchangoalhi of capital city Male’.
