The official launch of Coca-Cola Long Run 2017 was held on Thursday, where the event's sponsors were revealed.

The launching ceremony was held at Salt café Restaurant on Thursday morning. Official t-shirts for the event were revealed at the ceremony as well.

The annual event is organized by Total Fitness Group (TfG), and this year will mark its fifth consecutive year. A number of former participants were at Thursday's ceremony.

The event, which consists of marathon, half-marathon, 10k and 5k races, will kick off in the early hours on April 14.

In addition to locals, a number of foreigners will be able to take part in this year's event as well.

According to TfG, this year's event "will be different from the previous years." 

Over 500 runners took part in the Coca-Cola Long Run 2016.

While the event is to be held in Hulhumale', free shuttles are to be organized from Male' to Hulhumale, as well as buses from the ferry terminal to the race start areas.

TfG's mission is "to make its marathon an international success."
