Swim Maldives organizes week-long swimming event

Eight participants will swim to 22 islands

The ‘Baa Crawl’ will begin on Saturday, 2nd February

Local association, Swim Maldives, has organized the longest open water swimming event in the Maldives.

The ‘Baa Crawl’ will begin on Saturday, 2nd February and will be carried out through the week, ending on February 9th.

Swim Maldives says eight participants will swim from Eydhafushi island to Kendhoo, reaching 22 islands in the atoll, and a total of over 43 kilometers.

The event is held to garner further publicity for tourism in the Maldives and is heavily supported by resorts in Baa atoll and by other partners.

Swimmers will be stopping at Soneva Fushi and Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, where they are to conduct swimming lessons at these islands.

Local telecommunications company, Ooredoo Maldives will also be conducting water sports safety programs in the islands.
