Supreme Court goes into recess
The Supreme Court will be in recess until the first working day of January, next year
While in recess, courts will still accept cases and handle administrative tasks
The Supreme Court still has the authority to hold hearings and conclude deadline-driven cases

The Supreme Court headed in to recess on Sunday.

According to regulations, Maldives’ top court will be in recess until the first working day of January, next year.

The Civil Court went into recess on Saturday and will begin normal procedures on December 20.

While in recess, courts will still accept cases and handle administrative tasks and the Supreme Court still has the authority to conclude deadline-driven cases and hold hearings to proceed with other cases in a timely manner.

The Supreme Court is also required to end its recess in case of a state of emergency.
