President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has moved into Mulee-aage, the official residence of the Maldives President.
Ibrahim Hoodh, the President’s spokesperson, told RaajjeMV that he and his family officially moved in on Friday morning.
The state budget for 2019 has reduced expenses on the President’s official residence by MVR 6 million. While President Abdulla Yameen’s government spent MVR 37.8 million on the President’s residence in 2018, the 2019 budget has reduced the amount to MVR 31.5 million.
During his term, President Yameen had lived at his private residence G. Dhoovehi and then H. Noofaru before moving into Hilaaleege, after Vice President Abdulla Jihad, who had occupied Hilaaleege, moved to the Rehendhi luxury apartment complex.
