Finance minister Ibrahim Ameer has said that they are drafting a master plan for national development.
Minister Ameer said that they will propose a supplementary budget to parliament after drafting the master plan.
Speaking at the budget committee meeting, the minister estimates that it would take six months to draft the master plan and submit the supplementary budget, adding that the budget will be made in a way that does not hinder the new administration’s ability to fulfill its pledges.
He said that they are also making a nation-wide infrastructure priority list that includes all Maldives islands.
The budget committee has approved a MVR 30.2 billion state budget for 2019 and estimated the state income to be MVR 23.3 billion for that year.
