The parliament committee has approved the MVR 30.2 billion state budget for 2019.

The budget was proposed to parliament with MVR 29.6 billion. After evaluations, the committee has increased it by MVR 600 million.

The budget is now exactly MVR 30,251,742,542 (Thirty billion, two hundred and fifty-one million, seven hundred and forty-two thousand, five hundred and forty-two).

The estimated state income for 2019 is MVR 23.3 billion.

The evaluation committee approved the budget at a meeting on Friday night.

After approving the largest state budget in Maldives’ history, committee chair and Maradhoo MP Ibrahim Shareef said their report will be placed on the parliament floor on Sunday.
