Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has been re-appointed as leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA).
On August 28, MDA’s deputy leader and Kendhikulhudhoo MP Ali Mauroof was appointed as party leader after Siyam left the position.
RaajjeMV was told that business tycoon Siyam had stepped away from MDA’s leadership to focus on his businesses as well as due to various other reasons.
Siyam was re-appointed as party leader at MDA’s national congress on Thursday.
At the congress, MDA council member Aishath Mamdhooh was appointed as the party’s deputy leader to fill the position left by former housing minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu after he left MDA.
MDA has also decided to contest every seat in the parliamentary elections.
