The Maldivian economy will grow 7.6 percent by the end of this year, Minister of Economic Development Ahmed Munnavar has said.
Minister Munavvar said this at the deliberations for the proposed 2019 state budget at the People’s Majlis, adding that this is higher than the previously estimated amount of 6.4 percent.
Munavvar further said that industries that have seen the biggest growth in the past year are tourism and construction.
The economic minister said that they expect the economy to continue this momentum and estimate a growth of 6.8 percent.
