Joint Opposition proposes MP Faris Maumoon to parliamentary seat on JSC
Faris’ name was put forth by Jumhooree Party’s deputy parliamentary group leader Abdulla Riyaz

The Joint Opposition’s parliamentary group has nominated Dhiggaru MP Faris Maumoon to the Judicial Services Commission.

The sitting parliament-appointed member to the commission, Guraidhoo constituency MP Ibrahim Riza, was voted out on Monday.

Faris’ name was put forth by Jumhooree Party’s deputy parliamentary group leader Abdulla Riyaz. The nominated has been endorsed by Addu-Meedho constituency MP Rozaina Adam.

The ruling party’s parliamentary group has also nominated a parliamentarian to the position. Deputy parliamentary group leader of the Progressive Party of Maldives, Ibrahim Falaah, had nominated MP Ahmed Rasheed.

The nominations will be voted on at 13:30 on Tuesday.
