Incumbent President Abdulla Yameen, who lost in September's presidential polls, is yet undecided about attending his rival president-elect Ibrahim Solih's swearing-in ceremony.
President's Office spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz said that a decision on the matter has not yet been made.
"It is still too early to talk about it", Muaz said, with only 10 days remaining.
About 11,500 people are to be invited to Solih's swearing-in ceremony, which is to be held at the national football stadium in capital city Malé on November 17th.
