Parts of Hithadhoo in Addu City have been flooded by heavy rain in the southern atolls of Maldives.

The Maldives National Defence Force has been active in Hithadhoo, assisting residents drain the streets.

The flooding was extensive and water had rushed into several homes as well, the officers told RaajjeMV.

On Friday, the Maldives Meteorological Services released a ‘yellow’ alert level weather warning for four atolls.
