Missing Tourist
MNDF begins search for tourist missing at sea near Fihalhohi Island Resort
Coastguard Maritime Rescue Coordination Center was informed of the incident close to 3pm
The tourist was reported missing while at sea in Fihalhohi Island Resort
Diving team at the resort are also active in searching for the missing tourist

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)’s Male’ Area Coastguard has begun search for a male tourist that went missing while out at sea near Fihalhohi Island Resort.

RaajjeMV understands that the tourist had gone to Fihalhohi Island Resort from Maafushi island in Kaafu atoll and that the incident was reported to the MNDF Coastguard Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) at around 02:49 p.m. on Tuesday.

Upon receiving the report of a missing individual, MNDF Coastguard’s Fast Interceptor Craft “Dhoshimeynaa” had been dispatched to the area immediately to begin searching for the man.

RaajjeMV also understands that the diving team from the resort is also active in the search for the tourist missing since Tuesday afternoon.

MNDF revealed that the man had been spotted wearing a black wetsuit at the time he went missing.

MNDF has appealed on the general public to contact their toll free number 191 to share any details regarding the missing individual if attained.
