Maldives Police Service has in the early hours of Wednesday arrested a 22-year-old man in possession of alcohol from capital city Male’.

RaajjeMV understands that the arrest was made by officers patrolling the capital city at midnight, due to suspicious activity from the suspect.

As such, officers seized copious amounts of alcohol upon an inspection.

Three bottles of alcohol and four 500 millilitre bottles filled with what is suspected to be alcohol, were seized from under his motorcycle seat upon inspection.

RaajjeMV understands that the drug enforcement department is looking into the case.
