A leaked account statement has revealed that the housing ministry handed over MVR 17 million to one company.

According to the statement, OTO CREATIVE was paid a total of MVR 17.3 million for 18 event management projects this year.

These events include the unveiling of the Sinamale’ Bridge and the wedding ceremony on the bridge. OTO CREATIVE was also paid MVR 1.4 million to manage an event in Laamu atoll and MVR 1.6 million for events in atolls Noonu, Raa, and Lhaviyani.

Details of their event management work were not disclosed in the statement and the ministry’s media official Ahmed Fazal failed to answer RaajjeMV’s phone calls.

Event managers have been expressing disappointment over the housing ministry’s decision to handover projects to OTO CREATIVE without a tender process.
