Dhiggaru MP Faris Maumoon has said that the Supreme Court’s verdict not to annul the presidential election result shows there is a limit to how much the law can be changed to fit someone’s personal agenda.
Speaking to the press outside the courthouse on Sunday, MP Faris said that the opposition coalition has been working to hold the government accountable for some time now and that the citizens have clearly said ‘no’ to the current administration.
Faris said that while there are some who are unable to see the truth, most people want a government led by Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He also expressed hope that the transition process will go smoothly.
The Supreme Court on Sunday rejected the case to annul the presidential election result submitted by President Abdulla Yameen, who has claimed that the election was rigged.
