Former foreign minister Dunya Maumoon has headed to India as a special representative of her father and former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

In a tweet on Friday, Dunya said that she is visiting Delhi to hold unofficial meetings on behalf of Maumoon.

She did not give any further detail regarding her trip.

It is likely that Dunya will be meeting with top officials of the Indian government, as she had done the same during an earlier trip to Sri Lanka.
