Tokens to apply for the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure’s ongoing shelter program are being sold, RaajjeMV has received credible information.

RaajjeMV understands that these tokens, of which only 500 have been issued and is scarce, are being sold for MVR 5,000 to 10,000.

Another applicant that has been at the queue outside the Housing Ministry head office in capital city Malé said that some of whom selling the tokens are employees of the ministry.

Further allegations put forth against the ministry are that their employees are given tokens for which they do not have to wait at the queue, where hundreds have gathered and been since Wednesday afternoon.

However, RaajjeMV was unable to get through to the ministry’s media officials for a comment on the matter at the time of publishing.
