State employees should be aware that it is a criminal offense to refuse to help the Director General of Transition, says Mariya Ahmed Didi, the spokesperson of the president-elect.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Mariya said that some branches of government have been unhelpful to the transition team.
The Civil Service Commission has appointed Ahmed Latheef as the Director General of Transition after being nominated by president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. He has since begun the transition work after establishing his office at the STELCO building and hiring employees.
When going to the ministry, the transition team first meet the minister and then discuss work on the transition process with employees.
The position of Director General of Transition will be nullified after the new president takes his oath of office.
