Supporters of the opposition coalition concluded their Addu City campaign on Friday evening with a vehicle ride.
Numerous local supporters began the vehicle ride in Addu near Hithadhoo’s Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) campaign site.
It is notable that residents from every district joined the event in Addu, which has a large opposition majority. Around 700 motorcycles and 200 cars drove on link road along with pickups carrying more supporters.
MDP’s deputy chairperson Ahmed Abdulla was leading the event.
Speaking to RaajjeMV, Addu City council mayor Abdulla Sodiq said that their event has shown which side the people of Addu support.
MP Mohamed Aslam said that President Abdulla Yameen’s government has failed to rig the elections and that they will not get a chance to commit electoral fraud in any island, adding that police and military will not allow it.
Opposition coalition supporters concluded their ride by holding hands at the reclaimed site in Feydhoo.
Opposition coalition’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem held their last campaign event in Addu on Thursday night.
