Maldives Media Council (MMC) has revealed that they received 31 nominations in nine categories for its annual journalism awards.

While 31 nominations had been submitted during the duration window, the most nominations had been submitted for social and politics categories.

As such, six nominations had been submitted for each of the two categories.

Moreover, MMC revealed that five submissions had been received for business category, four in feature category, two in sports category, two in video journalism, two in legal category, one for the most promising journalist award and three are up for the award under photo journalism category.

Window was open for nominee submissions from the 14^th August till 18^th September and the eight categories under which awards are conferred include:

1. Social category
2. Politics category
3. Legal category
4. Business category
5. Sports category
6. Photo journalism category
7. Video journalism category
8. Feature category
