Training for police officers prior to election day
Maldives Police Service (MPS) has conducted a training programme for officers in Vaavu atoll prior to election day.
At the training programme on Monday, officers of the police service were given the proper training to use weapons as well as to use the power vested to them under the law.
Moreover, officers were taught the proper and appropriate use of less lethal weapons such as batons and pepper spray and learned the proper techniques on which they must act upon bringing people under police custody.
17 officers joined the training program in Vaavu atoll, which was conducted by qualified senior officers.
