Pro-government campaign manager draws public criticism after example reg. Addu city's minority and majority

Pro-government campaign Manager in Addu city, Mohamed Shaweed has drawn public criticism for an example he put on the majority and minority of the city in Addu City.

According to an online news outlet in Addu city, Shaweed had told the media that the ruling Progressive Party of the Maldives (PPM) is the minority in Addu city, speaking at a press conference held in the city in cooperation with officers of Maldives Police Service.

At the conference held to brief the media about the approaching Presidential Election slated for the 23rd of September, Shaweed had taken the example of Palestine and Israel to represent the minority and majority in Addu.

Shaweed had stated that although Palestine is the minority between Palestine and Israel, even they “throw stones” although the other end, Israel, carries machine guns.

While Shaweed has made this assertion, Jews from Israel took over the Muslim lands in Palestine which had led the state to plunge into a bloodbath. Its residents are being slain every day and continuous bloodshed and arson in residences of citizens prevails in the state.

Shaweed had drawn public criticism for calling Israel the majority among the two.

At the conference, Shaweed had also asserted on supporters of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) to conduct their campaign while keeping in mind that PPM is the minority.
