Officers of the Maldives National Defence Force have quelled a fire that broke out in an electronics store in capital city Malé.

The fire at ‘COMSHOP’ in Mahchangoalhi ward of Malé was reported at 03:22 Thursday morning. Rescue officers said the fire had been controlled by 03:28.

Officers said that the fire was controlled by hosing it with water and that the blaze originated from documents at the shop.

Details of any damages the shop may have incurred from this incident is yet unclear.
