A government led by the Joint Opposition will be incapable of building a bridge, says economic minister Mohamed Saeed.
In a press conference on Friday at the ruling party’s campaign office, the minister said that an opposition-led government would also be unable to develop harbors or sewerage systems in the islands.
At the press conference, minister Saeed said the opposition’s manifesto has no mention of development.
He also said that Sinamale’ bridge is the largest gift a president could give a citizen but that the opposition is trying to take credit for its construction away from President Abdulla Yameen.
Minister Saeed also claimed that countries from all over the world is talking about the bridge, which opened on Thursday night.
